Check the disability and age pathway
FES-UA is not based simply on needing extra learning support. Check the qualifying disability, age and residency requirements. SUFS accepts specified IEP or eligible professional diagnosis documentation; the current application guide explains what each document must show.

Gather the disability and residency records
Use the current checklist, including required student-age evidence and residency documents. Check that the guardian names and physical address agree with the application, and that disability evidence meets the stated issuer and date requirements.
Apply for the Unique Abilities scholarship in EMA
Create or use your parent EMA account and select the Students with Unique Abilities application, not FTC/FES-EO or PEP. Follow requests for additional documentation and the relevant new-student or renewal timeline.
Accept the award and plan eligible support
After the administrator's decision, follow its acceptance and account instructions. Use the FES-UA handbook and purchasing guidance to plan school, therapy, curriculum or other eligible support; a provider's assurance is not the program's purchase authorization.
