About this guide
An independent guide to Louisiana Giving All True Opportunity to Rise (LA GATOR) Scholarship Program, not an official application or an eligibility decision. Rules, application windows and available funds can change. Confirm your circumstances with the program before changing enrollment or committing money.
Before you start
Choose school or service-provider participation
LA GATOR distinguishes participating nonpublic schools from other education service providers. Match your organization and proposed expenses to the current policy before starting the application.
Your next steps
Start from Louisiana's official links
Follow LDOE's provider resources to the Louisiana application. Odyssey supports multiple state programs; an account or approval for a different state does not establish LA GATOR participation.
Document your offerings and qualifications
Prepare the business identity, relevant qualifications, descriptions and prices requested by the provider application. Complete the participation attestations and answer follow-up questions about the proposed expenses.
Confirm scope before accepting scholarship orders
Retain the approval and payment instructions. Check which offerings are authorized, provide itemized records, and follow the required annual participation attestations rather than treating initial onboarding as permanent approval.
Preparation checklist
Use this to get organized. The current official application or handbook controls the full requirements.
- Legal business identity and authorized application contact
- Educational offering descriptions, prices and relevant credentials
- Participation decision, attestations and payment onboarding records
Submit identity, financial, student and medical records only through the verified official process. Do not upload application documents to ParentSurf or include them in a public review.
Important distinctions
- School participation and general vendor participation are not interchangeable.
- Do not promise a family funding just because your organization is approved.
Official resources & further reading
