As part of The Collective at Lewisville ISD, Robotics 1 offers homeschool students a hands-on dive into the world of robotics, mechanical engineering, and computer programming. Operating out of the state-of-the-art MHS Roboplex, students will collaborate in a team environment to design, build, and program functional robots. The curriculum blends academic engineering principles with practical, competitive problem-solving while providing students access to expert instruction, advanced technology, and authentic engineering experiences. Key Learning Objectives Engineering Design: Master the iterative design process from initial concept to physical prototype. Mechanical Fabrication: Gain hands-on experience with tools, 3D printing, and manufacturing materials. Workplace Skills: Develop vital skills in project management, public speaking, and team dynamics that prepare students for advanced STEM learning and future careers.
