Writeful Justice is a virtual career readiness and literacy program that allows participants to read and write about the social issues they care deeply about. By the end of the program, participants will complete a written journalistic or creative nonfiction piece that they will publish in leading news/cultural publications or literary competitions. Sessions are at least one hour long. 15-20 minutes of the class is dedicated to direct instruction (teacher-led) and a short review of what was learned during previous lessons. The remainder of class is dedicated to three activities that become progressively rigorous based on the learner's demonstrated proficiency at each level (basic, intermediate, advanced). All classes end with a summative assessment that’s either completed in class or as a homework assignment.
