About Focused Assessments

Focused Assessments, LLC is a private neuroeducational assessment practice that provides comprehensive evaluations to identify learning disabilities, attention disorders, and other neurodevelopmental differences that impact a student’s ability to access education. Services are designed to help families understand their child’s learning profile and obtain appropriate educational supports, interventions, and accommodations. Evaluations are conducted by Mona White, M.Ed., a certified Educational Diagnostician with over 30 years of experience in education. Assessments may include evaluation for dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADHD, and other learning or processing difficulties. Each evaluation includes standardized cognitive and academic testing, review of developmental and educational history, and a comprehensive written report outlining findings and individualized recommendations for instruction, intervention, and accommodations. When a DSM-5 diagnosis is indicated, Focused Assessments collaborates with a Licensed Professional Counselor–Supervisor (LPC-Supervisor) who consults on the case and signs off on the diagnostic determination. This collaborative process ensures that diagnostic conclusions are made in accordance with professional standards while maintaining a strong educational focus on how the student learns. Focused Assessments works with students from elementary school through adulthood and partners with families, private schools, homeschool programs, and higher education institutions. Evaluation reports provide documentation that may be used to support eligibility for specialized instruction, educational accommodations, intervention planning, and disability verification. The mission of Focused Assessments is to uncover each student’s strengths while identifying barriers to learning so that families and educators can implement targeted strategies that promote academic success and confidence.
